Speakman Bridge number two, also known as the Mary Ann Pyle bridge, is one of the "twin bridges" (with the Hayes Clark Bridge) located on the Laurels Reserve. This bridge is located on the private property of the Brandywine Conservancy (Chadd's Ford, PA) and may only be visited with the permission of the Conservancy. The Mary Ann Pyle bridge was named for the daughter of James Pyle. Like Speakman Bridge number one, it once served the Jonathon Speakman gristmill, and was later part of the King Ranch. The Mary Ann Pyle bridge is located between a wooded area and a pasture, in a remote and rustic area of west-central Chester County. It shows some signs of deterioration but was basically sound in April, 1995.
The Mary Ann Pyle bridge is unique in this area as an old bridge with a Queenpost truss.
