White Rock Bridge (or: White Rock Forge Bridge) is in a rural setting in southeastern Lancaster County, on the west branch of Octoraro Creek. Notice the windows on either side where the bridge opens to a T intersection on Route 490 (King Pen Road), presumably to allow the user to check the traffic. Notice also the upward curved floor. This bridge was destroyed in 1884 and rebuilt with the same plan.
On the north side of the bridge is an establishment called the Lumbering Groundhog Lodge. We do not know what line of business the lodge carries on.
There is a large parking lot on between the Lodge and the bridge, on the north side of the creek. While there are no signs, we presume the lot belongs to the lodge. It is just about the only parking convenient to this remote bridge. Please respect private property!
